Successful Day of Caring card making event at Oasis!

On Thursday, August 3, twenty five Oasis volunteers and members of the community gathered at Oasis to create cards as a part of the United Way’s 2nd annual Day of Caring. The cards were made with an assortment of craft supplies and the vision of each volunteer. One hundred and twenty cards were made to be given to the Memory Care residents at The Nottingham in Jamesville to bring a smile to their faces.

The United Way began the Day of Caring in 2022 to commemorate 100 years of the United Way in Central New York. Last year over 850 volunteers came out and this year almost 1,200 volunteers participated. CNY residents can sign up to volunteer on VolunteerCNY.org for the Day of Caring and year-round for ongoing openings. Upstate Oasis has our own volunteer opportunities including instructors, front desk volunteers, tutoring and class coordinating in addition to our participation in the Day of Caring event.

Thanks to all who participated to make this event a success!
