First Annual United Way Day of Caring

On Thursday, August 4, Upstate Oasis volunteers and members of the community participated in the first annual United Way Day of Caring as a way to commemorate 100 years of the United Way in Central New York. Volunteers made cards and paper crafts to be given to residents in the Memory Care facility at the Nottingham, a local senior care facility. Additionally, cards were made for some members who are no longer able to participate, just to let them know we still think of them often.

Twenty people signed up to participate in this act of caring, including current Oasis volunteers and members of the community who registered through VolunteerCNY.org. With scrapbook paper, washi tape, stickers, ribbons, garlands, warm words and more, we are hoping to bring a smile to all who receive a homemade card!
