On Wednesday, June 28, Oasis said goodbye to longtime instructor Chuck Coon. After 10 years as an Oasis history instructor, Chuck is once again retiring from the teaching field. Chuck spent his career teaching high school Social Studies and was an adjunct professor at Onondaga Community College, SUNY Cortland and SUNY Oswego. Upon retiring, he began teaching history courses at Oasis, ranging from pivotal decades to wars, immigration to capitalism, women’s rights to Black history, and for the last few years his “Hidden Histories” series has been a big hit with both local members and Oasis Everywhere members. Chuck and his good humor will surely be missed.
