Food Drive in Memory of Tom Murphy

Upstate Oasis is holding a food drive in memory of longtime Oasis volunteer and Leadership Team member, Tom Murphy, who passed on May 12. Tom always had a smile on his face, especially when singing in the Men of Note. Tom also loved to cook and bake and always brought homemade treats to volunteer meetings.

Donations may be dropped off at Oasis (6333 State Route 298, East Syracuse) until July 7. Items needed include: toilet paper, paper towels, toothbrushes/paste, body soap/wash, shampoo, conditioner, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, cereal, pancake mix and syrup, 100% juice, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta, tomato sauce, tuna, soup, ketchup and mustard.

Monetary donations are also accepted. Donations will be given to the Interreligious Food Consortium (IFC) which serves small and under-resourced food pantries, senior housing facilities, social workers, and other providers in the local emergency food network.
